Title: Hard balsa wood

Does anyone know of a model shop in Somerset/East Devon which stocks hard balsa please?  All I can find is really soft stuff which isn't that useful for boats.  Or even a mail-order shop anywhere, as long as their postage isn't too high!

i normally find what i need  in Fred Coulsons in Bristol or Frome Model Centre................ or easier to call Barry at Westbourne Models and get him to post it to you .

Although their website doesn't state it, they do balsa wood, of all grades, at cheap prices, via mail order.

I contacted SLEC, they sent me a cataloge of their stock.  I ordered some on Monday and got it today, quick service and the woods harder than the local model shop stuff and not warped at all!  Many thanks for putting me onto them.  Now I can get started building!
