Not sure if it is of interest, but I have attached a couple of photo's of my Robbe PT-15, currently under construction.
I just did a trial (loose) fit of all the bits made so far. Only 1 gun partly made as yet and several other bits are also missing. The ghastly yellow colour is the primer/surfacer spray coat to see whether I need to fill some more. I have yet to buy the Robbe fittings kit, but will need it fairly soon, but as I have Cowes Week coming up (1:1 scale), it will have to wait a few weeks.
The PT-15 will be powered by a 550 type motor (from Model Motors Direct) with 8.4v 4000 NIMH cells and no gearbox. I will fit working lights and foghorn, run from a separate battery pack.
I am trying to decide whether to also get some new radio gear, as my old Hitec stuff is getting very old and the new Multiplex synthesised gear looks perfect, if a bit pricey; has anyone tried it yet?
Will add some more photo's later if they are of interest?

Looks good, I built one of these last year and run it on an eco 600 with cooling, no gearbox. I was slightly dissapointed with the performance and she does not turn to port very well, or is stb any one way, I put it down to prop wash. What size are you running?
This was my first out of a box build and I found the instructions awfull. I bought the extra fitting kit after one of my kids lost all the torpedos.
Yours looks alot better than mine.
Keep up the fine work and post some more pics.

Here is my PT15 which I have had on the water for some two and a half years. It is powered by an MFA Torpedo 800 direct drive to a 50X prop. Batteries are a ten cell pack of GP3300 mAh NiMh. Speed and duration are good and it is quiet in operation.

Just a quick update on my Robbe PT-15 build.
Most of the painting now done and guns made etc., but still needs a further varnish coat and all the railings, ladders and balustrades etc. fitted, together with all the ready made fittings from the Robbe fittings kit.
Lots of minor tidying up also needed, then it's the radio and a quick pond trial.

Hi all
Just a final update on my Robbe PT-15 build, which is now more or less finished. I have attached a couple of photos of the finished model, which I hope may be of interest?
The finished model has a 550 motor and runs on an 8.4v Nicad at present. R/C is Multiplex Cockpit SX gear and ESC is an Mtroniks 20amp. The lights work from a separate battery, as does the foghorn. The foghorn is switched from an Action Kit R/C switch. I still need to build a similar latching switch to control the lights.
I test sailed it, before adding all the fittings and the performance was OK on 8.4 volts, but too slow on 7.2 volts. The noise level was a bit higher than I would have liked and I guessed that this was due to the rather lightweight Robbe ABS hull acting as a sort of sound box. Somewhat in desperation I purchased a sheet of self-adhesive sound deadening material, intended for cars and stuck pieces on all bare areas inside the hull and under the deck. The result was better then expected and although still not exactly quiet, it is a lot better than it was!
I will try and add an 'on the water' photos at a later date.

See my earlier post about my PT15. I used an MFA Torpedo 800 motor which is a low revving high torque motor and used it with a 50X prop. This gives amazingly quiet operation and very good speed. Duration is good too from the 10 cell GP 3300 mAh pack. PT15's I have seen powered by the Robbe geared powered system are extremely noisy.

Just a quick final on my PT-15 build! The photo, taken today, shows my PT-15 on the water. It has a good turn of speed, with the 550 motor and 8.4v 4300 NIMH battery. Run time is circa 40 to 50 minutes, which is about right for me.
Perfect weather this morning for model sailing.

Is she powered with the 777 motors?
550 type motors from Model Motors Direct ARE 777's but can be run on 12 volts.
I have 2 of these motors in my Schutze.

All I can tell you is that the motor is a 550 type, that came from Model Motors Direct! It draws circa 4.5 amps in the water and runs surprisingly cool.
Not too sure what's next, but I am currently finishing an old 590 yacht that came my way, part built! I must say that I find R/C yachts quite an art to sail (i.e hard) and I do offshore racing in full size yachts!
I like the look of the Higgins PT boat which has been a thread on this site, from a Model Boats free plan. If I can find some 1:32 gun kits to suit, I think it could be made to look a very nice model. The only finished one I have seen was not particularly well built and looked a bit crude, but it has a nicely shaped hull.
My local club's 'Club 500' racing starts again soon and I shall try and get a bit higher up the results list this year!

Nice build, looks realistic in the water. I am in the process of finishing off the Higgins PT Boat and it is a good model and not a PT 109, which everyone down at the pond seems to have, so is a little different. I know that there are a lot of 1/32 scale Guns and fittings available, Monstervan on ebay has fittings and torpedo tubes, guns, depth charges etc. So fittings are not a problem.

Is she still noisy?
have you put any supports close to the inboard end of the propshafts.
I have found with vacuform hulls that you can get quite a flexing of the hull if the propshaft isn't supported at both ends.
This flexing can produce a lot of noise.
She certainly looks good.

I don't think my PT-15 is too noisy, but is still probably noisier than it would have been with a GRP hull! The stick-on sound deadening panels inside the hull helped a lot and the prop shaft is well supported etc. If I ever build another kit with an ABS hull I would take care to build in extra hull stiffening, before adding the deck.
I suppose you get what you pay for to an extent, in that a kit with a GRP hull of equivalent size would have been much more expensive. My Deans 'Whaleback' ASRL has a similar motor setup and propshaft and is quieter due to the more rigid hull I guess.
