Title: Tamiya modellers putty

Hi guys,
              can anyone give me some advice on using tamiya modellers putty. After mixing both compounds together, I've found it very stiff to use. Can I add a few drops of thinners to make this stuff more pliable ?

Personally dont use it I use car body filler,cheaper as well and just does the job for me

Are there any of these fillers that don't smell?

They are supposed to smell, it's another argument for a dedicated workshop. O0

pollyfilla doesnt smell and you get to put it on again when you have been on the water [thats because its gone lol]

just kidding i dont think there is an odourless filler i use car body filler [metallic] it doesnt absorb water like plastic padding and its very pliable and easy to sand unlike the old fillers

modelman66 sorry to disillusion you regardless of what you think but any from of bodyfiller and primer is POROUS and WILL absorb water.I should know been in the motor trade for 25+yrs.No self respecting garage will now rub filler down with wet/dry due to water absorption

Stavros is right. Nothing is truly waterproof, there are just varying degrees of water resistance although some materials are for all practical purposes waterproof such as epoxy resin.

I have just been putting "underwater filler" on my full size boat - but they still advise you to paint over it.

i stand corrected but i do think the normal filler is the worst for absorbing water.
