There seems to be very little boat building going on at the moment judging by the topics of late.
Surely lots of you must be doing some. How about letting the rest of us in on it.
At the moment the forum seems to be more like an agony column than a boat modelling forum.
We all know that grumpy old gits should be in sheds, I've been in mine what have you lot been doing ? :-\
-
Very true comments Richard. I feel quite guilty as I've been nipping in and out of my workshop all day trying to build up sufficient enthusiasm to continue with my Dean's Medea. It's marketed as a kit but I think it would be better to describe it as a sort of nautical crossword puzzle. Nothing seems to fit properly. I'ts taking a bit of puzzling out and I shall probably call it something else when it's finished. I've called it lots of other things already. Here's a picture of progress to date. The wood panelling on the deckhouse is done using Fablon. Not really up to my usual standard although the flash shows up all the faults you wouldn't normally notice. Still, it was just intended to be a "quickie".
-
Very nice Colin, how about a build, cant remember one from you. :-\
-
There seem to be only blue bird building anything these days, I myself am building, but the board tends to ignore anything I do or say, so I tend not to show you things, I myself have just come out of hospital after being in with a virolin infection for 8 days.
-
Sorry to hear about your hospital visit Ron, had a few of those myself.
Lets see your build, not everyone comments on builds but they still find them interesting, I know I do. O0
-
Richard, This is the one I ought to be spending time on, all the innards are complete and working but she's been a long, long time on the stocks.
Ron, Hope you are feeling better, don't let any lack of comment put you off.
-
Either one will be fine Colin, will keep an eye open for one of them O0

... guilty, Dicky D- for hanging in non-modeling posts.....
At the moment no boating as I still have to catch up my sensitivity back. On the left hand three fingers def after a brainstroke. Tried to repair my car scale 1:5, but every screw smaller as 6mm I can not pick up.....
Have tried to drive with it but put the RC away as my driving ended up a tree. Like my first mate use to say: Your style is a bit "squared"....

Seems you have a good excuse Jörg, hope you continue to improve. I myself had a stroke 18 years ago and I lost the use of my right arm. I am now OK in that department though it took a while.
Are there any healthy people on the forum ? :-\

Far too bloody cold to work in No.1 workshop. No.2 has to suffice. Little details heve been added to "Havelock". See "Havelock" build. There are busy little bees still beavering away (oxymoron?) to get things done, but in comfort.
-
Guilty M'lud as I have been nipping in and out of here a lot but I have been very busy working the whole weekend and yesterday on a couple of subs..Start at 9 am.. finish at 11pm. Very tiring and needed the breaks but got em done!

Having problems with superspringer drive, but hopefully sorted now, will post info as soon as new gear turns up and share the details and fix.
Work gets in the way a lot at the moment, then garage needs a good sort out, I only have about 3ft sq of work space in a 1.5 car garage!
I have a few ideas churning for the next project, will post as and when they come to fruition.

My problem too, I don't spend enough time in it. ;D
-
Hook your belt around the vice handle - stops you running out ;D
-
Too blooming cold to be out in the garage / workshop, still there are a couple of Springers started on. I suppose to progress them I need to order some parts.
cheers

Just finished (today) a Moonbeam yacht ( see thread in Yachts and Sail).
There is a good forecast for tomorrow so here it is with the sails folded down ready to take to the lake for its Maiden Voyage.
I did promise Stavros it would be on Sunday but the forecast is too good to wait ::)

Robert

Hi Robert,
You are correct, Yeovilton Model Show is this weekend. On Saturday only though, entry for exhibitors from 7.30, general public from 10am. For those that don't know it, it's held at the RN Air Museum, just off the A303, and north of Yeovil itself. Not a bad show, all static, and a bit pricey, but you do get to go round the museum as well, the stands for models are in between the aircraft displays!
