Take a look at this link         http://www.queensown.org/battle-damage/battle-damage.html          These guys fire ballbearing guns powered by co2 and knock the c##p out of each others  1/72 scale warship models.        Wonder how long it would take to destroy a springer.

I suppose you might class that as "extreme weathering"!

Interesting to see that they carry insurance too!

Can you imagine the insurance claim when an eye gets taken out with a stray shot.

True, $2m won't buy you much in the States - and that's before the lawyers....

Not sure about ball bearings , you would need a colt 45 to get through the sides of my springer O0 :D

I cant see the point myself. You spend all the time and money on a model just to have it shot to pieces, an act of a masochist. But I suppose if it "floats your boat" who am I to criticise. :D :D :D

Having read an article about this I must admit the idea is appealing in one way but not in another.Knowing my luck it would sink and would never be found again!!!!
Apparently what they do is put all the electrics in a container that is not only waterproof but ballbearign proof so when it is recovered all they need to do is to tape up the hole with speed tape and away they go again.funny lot some of these modelers, but sounds like good fun
