Hi everyone.
Thank goodeness most of us seem to have made it over here. If I have posted this question in the wrong place you will have to forgive me.
I am just about to paint some brass railings and am sure I read some where on `that other place` one should use an etching primer. Can some one please confirm this and maybe give me a clue as to what it is and where to obtain some.
Thanks in advance.

Yes, use an etching primer, it stops the paint flaking off!! Take a trip down to Homebase,B&Q or Halfords they all sell etching primers, usually state that they are for metal garage doors!! 8)

Hi Collin, a primer is necessary to paint brass. I found the ones from the car-shops good enogh for that job. But pleas, do yourself an favour- don`t use a brush, take a spray-can. The result will be much better.
