just started building the smit nederland and almost immediately came across a problem.
The deck seems to be too large to fit into the hull, I could trim it but then there would be a problem with the parts fitting to the deck would no longer fit. It appears to be about 8mm too long, I have removed anything inside of the hull which could effect the fit, any ideas peeps >>:-(

Hi,
Excuse me if I ask two stupid questions first..
Have you trimmed the hull down to the line indicated on the plan?
Have you glued in all the part numbers 39
then:-
If you have correctly done both of those things then you will see that the deck is bow shaped.
Starting aft press fit the deck then carefully trim the fwd end to suit...
Is that any help?
:)
You should have part 38,part 37 and also part 39d fitted
-
Yes I have done all that and even removed part 39, still no better
-
I am advocating trimming it at the fwd end to fit....
FIX part 39 first..
-
If I do that I will almost be on the removed bits for the deck wall support
-
Its 845mm long right?
Unless you have a longer piece.
The overall length of the boat is a little less than that..
The deck dips down, lengthwise..

Hi
In the end I trimmed each end equally until it fitted allowing for the curve downwards.
