Title: Battery Waterproofing
Post by: BreezyB on March 05, 2008, 01:11:02 pm
I can understand that the RX needs to be waterproofed (I'm going to use a balloon) but the RX Ni-cads are already factory "shrink wrapped" in blue plastic so do they need to be further protected. (For Yacht installation).
Cheers  :)

Every little helps but remember that it is almost impossible to ensure a completely watertight seal against immersion.   When anything gets in, it will stay there so you still need occasional access and the ability to get into and/or replace the protection.

Very many thanks for your input. I guess that it makes sense to go for the Belt and Braces approach, its probably far less hassle in the long run. Thanks again. O0
