Title: Ellesmere Port Model Boat Club
Post by: Canalpilot on March 12, 2008, 10:56:04 pm
Can you put the Ellesmere Port Model Boat Club on your club list?  We have an evening meeting on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 pm. at the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum.  We are a small Club, quite successful in the world of tug towing but would like to improve the scale side of our hobby.  We would welcome new members who enjoy model boating although, unfortuneately we cannot have I/C models.  I have many pictures of real ships which I would like to share with people but am having difficulty in getting on to your site.

Hi,
I have tried many times to find this club, was it Raddle wharf some time ago? I have looked there (the overspill carpark by the hotel) and past the museum entrance, down by the african restaurant, but never see anyone. Where do you sail?

Paul

we are not raddle wharf. we are the proper club that sails inside the museum some of the tug towers sail on Thursday nights when we have the light in summer but we would like more in the club that are able to sail on the weekend we are also going to be there on the next bank Holiday Monday if anyone wishes to come and have a look at what go's on. we have great things at our disposal including a workshop although you will have to bring own tools with plenty of ships that are for towing around even a ten foot sub thats great to tow

anyone wishing to contact the club can do so though myself Steve on 07843277298 or john 07761559939

your first sentence implies there are 2 clubs, is that right? Do I have to pay to get into the museum, went over again today after the Ellesmere show, but couldnt find anyone. Didnt want to have to pay to gain entrance into the Museum, so where are you sailing please? is it round the back by the restaurant/apartments, or actually inside museum?

Great pics.
It really is worth the effort of getting down to the subjects 'eye view'. This gives a more realisitc angle.

I'm looking for one of my old boats I sold quite some time ago (1997/8). At the time I was in two minds wether to sell it and as soon as I did I wish I hadn't.

HMS Kelvin, I used the Deans Marine HMS Kelly kit as a base, she was painted in camouflage colours, and was in a dark blue waterline transport box.

I sold her from the model shop (now gone) at Raddle wharf, Ellsmere port.

I would love to know if she is still about and maybe for sale?

I think I'll have to suggest a visit to my wife's relatives in Wallasey mid-May!
