Title: Hard White metal fittings!!
Post by: barryfoote on April 05, 2008, 04:13:43 pm
Whilst rummaging through a little model shop I found in Malaga, I came acros some fittings in white metal by Artesania Latina. 4 good size lifebelts, that looked perfect for my Lady T, once I removed the metal rope, replaced it with "real" rope ,touched them up and painted them.

I started work on them and found the metal to be very hard. It took real effort to cut the rope off and I broke two bits trying to drill through it. I have never come across this before with white metal fittings, they are usually much softer than this. Any body else had a similar experience or do they really vary so much in relative hardness?
