To celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the RNLI this year Irvine Maritime Museum has been hosting a display of models and information to help raise awareness of the work of the Lifeboats. There is also a drive to promote water safety, especially to children.
The display has been organised by the South Clyde branch of the RNLI and they have asked me to post a request for help here on Mayhem.
The organisers are looking for model examples of Tamar or Shannon lifeboats which the owners would be willing to have added to the static display at the museum.

If anyone is willing and able to help then please PM me here. Please don't post any contact details on the forum.

Many thanks

Andrew

hello Andrew,
long time no hear. how are you? Are you still at the beeb.

How long is your display on for, as I have a model of an old lifeboat if it is on for a while, but needs some space as it is big.

If it is on for a while and you have space it might be a bit different to what all the modern boats look like.

It is a model of the last of  4  60' Barnett class lifeboats built between 1924- 1930 built at 1;12 scale and this one being the last was a foot longer because of her raked bow. 61" x 14" beam. She served her life at Padstow, Cornwall.

Hi Neil

Great to hear from you. Yes still with the BBC and have been up to my eyes in the Election! Now on holiday thankfully. Didn't spot your reply until now. Apologies for the delay in replying. I've passed the details to David Cowie who is the RNLI rep and a member of our club. He has organized the display with the support of the Irvine Maritime Museum. When I hear back from him I'll let you know what he plans. Many thanks for responding to the request for help.
Trust you and the family are well? As signal allows on Arran I'll give you a call.
Catch up soon all being well.
