Downunder boatie saying hello
« on: September 15, 2008, 08:45:57 am »

Hey everyone, Im Nick
I live in NZ and just last week i bought myself my 1st RC toy. A 1m long mono hull with  a K&B 7.5cc outboard. It hadnt been used for about 10-15year prior to me getting it, so i stripped down the motor and gave it the once over, cleaned the lot up. Now just gotta figure out how to get it running :D tips are much appreciated haha

Just been doing some prep work for paint today, ill be throwing on a lick of Nissan Sunset Red (cheap miss match from the paint shop ;) and possibly yellow pinstriping.

below: basic concept

Hi Nick.
From one Kiwi to another, nice to have you aboard. Where in NZ are you. Im in Whakatane. My current build is the French battleship Richelieu. A post on her build is available to view here as well. Great model. Nice vintage looking outboard. Bet it will rocket along quite nicely.
Cheers,
Adrian.

Hi Barnaclei

I'm from Wellsford just north of you but living in the UK at the moment.

Welcome to the Forum.

You dont really want to find Kiwi's build, it will turn you green. ;)
