I wonder could anyone give me any clues how to use plan that is the expanded shell plating lines, as it would be nice to get the plate lines just right.
and rivet detail in the right places it's for a tug i am planing.

The shell expansion plan is of the plates as they would be cut if laid flat.
If you have the hull you can just cut some paper in the shapes and stick onto the hull.
There are several threads on this if you use the search facility.

This is how I do it on my USCGC Duane,
Plates made from litho, cut to size , rivetted and glued to the hull with contact adhesive.
Bow and Stern painted, looks shiny but its only just been sprayed, it dulles down later.
