Ref quote :-

"I hadn't noticed anything - so I scored the photo and your pics and the only thing I came up with is the vents facing the wrong way !"

Are they the wrong way round? I would imagine they are free to rotate, facing the apparent wind would force air into the appartment. It would certainly change the air alot quicker!! Perhaps someone eat something that didnt agree with them...

Looking good

No Colin as photo below.
Already started Robert, have installed the running gear. The rest is scratch build, new for me, could take a while.

Hi Dicky
That looks very nice, a crying shame they are coming off the market. Here is a shot of the real No 57, hardly tell the difference;
Any idea what flag that is Christian, doesn't look like the White Ensign ?  :-\

You don't miss much! 91 & 92 were part of the free-French manned (and led) flotilla, pictured here in Brest flying their colours and tooting their horns in victory no doubt. I think the radio men were RN, and thats it.

Thanks, what about 57 is that the White Ensign or a dodgy photo that makes it look like something else.

Hope I can maybe help out.
By looking at another boat picture, MTB 73, the flag you are referring to is lower on the mast than where the White Ensign should be. It looks like the white ensign is above but facing away from camera.
The flag in question is more likely to be a marker for S.O. on board.

If I'm not mistaken the ensign flying from MTB 57's (and MTB 73) mainmast (on the yardarm) is the blue duster, meaning they were on builder's trials.
Signal flags were flown higher up from the crosstrees.

Should perhaps have said red duster.

hi there

I always thought when a boat was still in builders' hands they flew the Red Ensign also alongside the builders yard's flag to show that she was on sea trials and had not been accepted yet.  :-\

Well I have gone as far as SWIMBO's bank account will let me on this one. Just need an electronic miracle from our ACTion man to complete the build.( after the next pay cheque I'm told ) and I will be able to try it out.
A few more photos  including one of the next build already started.
