Peterborough Area Model Boat Club, or PAMBC as it is usually referred to, is a friendly club with members with a wide range of boating interests however, we do not support IC boats. New members are always welcome either at the lakeside or a club meeting. We sail regularly on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons throughout the year. Membership is ?30 (senior citizens ?20, junior ?10).

More details of Colin's TID tug....

Martin,

Please mention Ian Wallett from the Balne Moore Club as I have not yet been able to thank him for his help.
He has already proved that Towmaster 'rudder system' works at model scale and it was his advice and encouragement
that spurred me on to try the system for myself.

The belt turns the outer two rudders of the rear set, the centre one is driven from the outers via the gears.
The centre rear rudder has to be easily removable to get the prop in and out, to allow for this the lower bearing
(attached to the nozzle) is removable.

I have attached three pictures of the Towmaster gear out of the boat please feel free to use them if they are of interest.

Great site, thanks  for all your hard work.

Evening Martin,

I just noticed that your located in Peterborough, the reason of asking is my parents live in Market Deeping and looking for a place to sail when I visit them. where abouts can you sail in Peterborough.

Many Thanks

Tim,

I would just add to Dougal's comment, PAMBC sail on the centre of 3 small lakes in Hampton, Peterborough.  If unsure of where to go ask for directions to the Moorhen pub.  The sailing lake is opposite the pub.  As stated on the Club web site, we sail on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons usually commencing about 1300 to 1330. If you need any more information, my contact details are on the Club web site. Please feel free to give me a call.

Just a quick 'heads up'......I have been typing in the web address for the Peterborough club but it keeps getting diverted to some other address which is throwing up a malware warning each time.

Has the PAMBC address been hi-jacked?

Still cant get it to work on my IE - but it isn't the end of the world....managed to sort it via Chrome.  Just glad it wasn't the website itself.

Had a gander at the site - looks a very pleasant spot to sail.  Might well pop along for a dabble one sunny sunday if that's ok?
