Hi skippy I have a 35" Robbe PT 15 with a Deans Marine Kestrel motor a 50 amp forward/ 20amp reverse Tornado Speed controller and 9.6V 4300mha NiMH Battery Pack or a 7.2V 3300 NiMH Battery Pack. Obviously faster with 9.6V but better with 7.2V
It does not go incredibly fast but does a good scale speed and looks right. Its a scale model not a fast electric so its not supposed to do 100mph.
Sorry forgot it also has two blade fine pitch prop 35mm.

Hi skippy uk,

Lots of options here, but initially a two blade prop is better than a three blade. Three blades are normally used for displacement boats, and two blades for faster craft.

skippy uk,
Deans also provide the recommended motor/prop set up.
I use Deans motors when I can as they are all built to common specs.
Costs a few bob more but good motors.

I agree with Bob. The Deans Kestrel I have for my PT boat is the one they recommend for planing patrol boats. Excellent motor though slightly more expensive than some.
Absolutely silent.
