Measuring Servo Torque
« on: July 21, 2006, 01:17:56 pm »

Hi all..

Following on from my other query, is there a definitive way of measuring the torque a servo produces?  Better still, does anyone happen to know the torque of a Kyosho Perfex KS-3 servo.

I'm trying to work out if a Ftuaba S148 has a better torque than the Kyosho Perfex KS-3 servo or vice-versa.

Whilst we dont do the kyosho stuff anymore the one you refer according to kyosho manual has less torque than the S148 from Futaba
Kyosho Perfex at 4.8 is 2.8 kg and the futaba @ 4.8 is 3.2 kg and 4.1 at 6 volts no figures for kyosho at 6 volts
There is a way of testing them but unless you were compiling data its not worth going down this path as a general feel of what the item is doing is the best test.
Hops this helps Mark

Cheers Mark..

Thanks for that.  I have a spare set of S148's so was going to use them in the a Monster Nitro Truck I have.  Any ideas on the time response it take to do a 60 degree sweep?
