Reading this topic made me think. I have got one of these folding trollies laying around doing nothing, I used to use it to lug all my First Aid training equipment around. It has done me well but as I have retired from training it just sits there. Folded up it easily fits behind my drivers seat.

Now if I drop a removable ply board in the bottom with padded 'vees' to cushion the hull it should work fine. OK it won't take massive boats but at 1.16m x 0.54m it will fit a lot of boats easily. I guess it could be modified into a 'double decker' trolley.

Several of my club mates use exactly that trolley.  As you say, a ply base will help a lot although several smallboats will fit in there without any modification.  One person has added an overhanging (lengthwise) top to carry a boat that is slightly too long to fit inside.  I keep meaning to get one myself as they seem to be a really versatile carrier for a range of boats.

About thirty seven quid on Ebay. Not cheap but I've abused mine for about 10 years & it's still going strong.

I've just dragged mine out of the garage and was amazed by what lurked in the bottom. A pack of mini pork pies, 7 months out of date (complete with blue fur coat), a couple of Kit-Kats and some rather sticky jelly sweets plus about 7 pens. I think that should all go in the bin. Too late, one of the dogs has just had one of the Kit-Kats.

I expect the Kitkats were alright if properly sealed Beejay! It's nice to see Kenny's name pop up again in the topic author's box. I miss his interesting and challenging builds.

I like the trolleys but do think the slightly older one is a little overengineered (His pork pies would be quite sentient with life forms now!)

Hi all;

I found this trolley and purchased recently on Amazon for use of 1/96 HMS Fencer.
I am going to modify and reinforce some parts of it to carry safely to the shore in the very near future.
Max length is about 135cm.A handle and some frames are detachable.

Hi Taranis;

Thank you for your comment.!
Your both boat and trolley are also nice. :-))
Especially,trolley looks well devised for the big and heavy ?tug boat.
My present trolley? is so primitive that I was looking for something suitable and worthy of modifying for the 162cm carrier.

Hi all;

I have started a modification of the trolley frame more firmly and stably as to use for the
1/96 HMS Fencer or other RC large models such as my 1/6 M4 Sherman  tank about 60kgs made of GRP.

Hi all;
In the next place,I set some plyboards as the base for the ship stand.
Unless it is,the stand may no sit on the trolley stably and properly.! :((

How about one of these? Only a pound at your local supermarket!
Only kidding, but I bet there are loads of them just dumped everywhere.

And a tool box,a transmitter and a launching tool were hung on like these. {-)
Very  simple and compact to build and convenient to carry the RC ships and boats in one time,as
compared with temporary transport trolley now in service.!! O0 {-)

I still think our daughters cast off pram works well.  Fully sprung, basket under for tools and Tx. and cost me nothing as it was going to the tip.

It's a good idea and convenient since it is really dual purpose ,isn't it? O0

Hi here is my trolley constructed about 25+ years ago.  Purpose made tray with 2nd. hand inflatable tyres.  These are run at 5 lbs pressure only and act as suspension as well.

They came from old invalid push chairs and have a stub axle running in a bearing and have a light tightening of the bolt inside a captive tube.  The handle is from a mop handle with the screw thread 'nut' end secured to one side so that you can walk in front.  It all disembles quickly and either sits on the base of the car boot or in the car on end.
It will take up to three smaller models.
regards

Roy

Hi all;

I in the next place installed the wheel locks on both sides as seen in the pics, to be followed by the minor modifications
later on.

Hi warspite;

Thank you so much for your question.
Anyone can get it on the Amazon and this is not for the ambulance,it is so small for the use.
Moreover this is sooo poorly constructed so that this can not be available for such purpose.
According to the advertisement of the manufacturer,this seems mostly made for farming and leisure use.

Hi all;

I loaded HMS Fencer 1/96 actually together with her related stuff on the transport trolley for test fit
to check the stability of whole thing when moving ,though it's in my tiny room....The impression was so and so...
But it moved so smoothly by the 10-inch wheels.
Everything will be made clear around April or so when the aircraft carrier goes to the shore for sailing.

Hi all:
I found a yacht transport trolley to be towed by a bicycle at the waterfront of our local lake as seen in the pic.  %%
