Tug Motors: What Tug do you have and what motor setup?
« on: April 28, 2008, 11:37:50 AM »

OK lets see what's what.

What Tug do you have and what motor setup?:

1. Model?                    ( eg, Robbe Happy Hunter )

2. Motor(s) fitted?     ( eg. 2 x Robbe Navy 550 2:1 gearbox - Cortina heater motor - direct drive.)

3. Radio setup?          ( eg. 4 channel 40MHz,  2 x Action ESC's, Hunter rudderl mixer, Bow thruster )

Scratch built 60+ inch long offshore tug 1/24 scale.
two graupner speed 900 bb torque motors linked to two graupner schottle drives ( need powerful servos to hold them still )
four 12 volt 7.5 amp batteries linked to give 15 amps to the motors. Controlled by two Proboat electronic speed controls.

model weights over 75lbs and cruises slightly faster than scale speed.
