Caldercraft Imara with Cheddar steam boiler and two twin cylinder "Puffin" steam engines..but gotta confess.......I'm a chicken and haven't steamed em up yet.. :'( :'( <:(

Not far from finished is my Pusher Tug, this is powered by a Triumph Stags blower motor!  :-))

Yes i have started to use these on most of my builds now, simple and straightforward, coupled with this motor it should pull most things.

  I have used a variety of motors in a variety of builds. But for larger tugs I will used a power seat motor. They are a low rpm and have lots of torque and can be used as a direct drive. On TID tug I am building this motor will be turning a 4in prop. I will give you an update after the water test.

SS Master, based on a Dumas Brooklyn hull
power seat motor driving 3 3/4" prop. It can pull a large person in a row boat.
Airtronics FM 4 channel, two channels used at the moment.
12 volt 7ah sealed gel cell battery

Scratch built 1/24th scale Contest and Ocean cock  both fitted with Astra 1.6 cooling fan motors  and M tronics 20amp speed controllers swinging 110mm props.
and Planet 5 radio gear.

All these big motors and props would seem to make my 1:48, 28" Cervia, under powered.
A 40 year old, 500 size motor and a Graupner 50 mm. 3 blade plastic prop but she almost planes and the bow wave can be as high as the rail!
