OK lets see what's what.

What Tug do you have and what motor setup?:

1. Model?                    ( eg, Robbe Happy Hunter )

2. Motor(s) fitted?     ( eg. 2 x Robbe Navy 550 2:1 gearbox - Cortina heater motor - direct drive.)

3. Radio setup?          ( eg. 4 channel 40MHz,  2 x Action ESC's, Hunter rudderl mixer, Bow thruster )

Mobile Marine Models "Canning"
Model Motors Direct Bueler (not sure what model cost about £20) drives a 4 blade  3inch prop.
Futaba 40mhz 4 ch Electonize 43X ESC separate votage reg for the radio, off 12 volt main battery.
3rd channel switches the lights on/off

Mobile Marine "Nangee"
two Model Motors Direct 777s driving Graupner Schottels 6 volt, 12amp drive battery
Futaba radio with Mtroniks 15 amp escs,
Separate 6v, 4amp battery for radio/servos.
Robbe Bow thruster...(not really needed).

Single refrigeration motor driving 90mm 4 blade prop in steerable Kort
Bow thruster + 15amp esc
Hitec eclipse 7, 8 ch Rx, electronise 30amp esc
2 x 12v x 12ah gel battery's (ballast)
JJC turbo diesel sound

Graupner multispeed 140 motor spinning a 30mm 3 blade prop
Run on a 6volt 4ah battery
Futaba skysport4 40meg radio with Mtroniks viper 15 amp ESC

Mobile Marine Models    Lady T
2 mobile Marine T4 motors running 2, 45mm brass props.
Futaba 4 channel radio. One to operate both motors via FLJ's P94 twin esc's and mixer unit.
One to operate the rudder and two as yet undecided.

4, Futaba FX 18 40 MHz (12channels )  3x Mtronic ESC's,

5, 2X 12volt SLA (main drive + pumps) + 1X 6volt SLA rec, (B/Thrust, lights, winches, Radar's)

hi all          i have a canadian logging tug
                2x robbe 'navys'  (540 geared 5:1)
               2x 97mm prop's in 100mm nozzle's
                                 f14 radio
                    2x 12volt 7 amp &2x 6volt 4 amp jell cell batterys
                     12lbs pull (all this in a 28inch model)
                       working towing winch

4 channel Futaba 40Mz Tx

ACTion ESC, Whistle, Steam engine simulator, 2xACTion d.b.s, mixer, amp and speaker. (currently waiting for FLJ to import the sound units from Canada -I have my name on one-)

Tyne Models  " Northsider"

One of the last of MMM's large 12 pole hi-torque motors.

Running on 18 volts swinging a 105 mm dia 4 blade prop. ( 1-12v + 1-6v  7 amphr lead acid batteries in series)

Electronize controller.

Robbe F14 TX.

Lights and hooter with a 4" speaker.  ACTion  switcher for lights and sound unit for hooter.

Robbe Power 1000, direct drive to 90mm Rivabo brass prop, in 100mm Robbe Kort nozzle.

12v 7.2 ah SLA battery, 2 x 6v 4 ah for ballast and lighting.

standard robbe 2x 750  stock 60mm props
540  bow thruster

happy hunter
same as above but with a 380 stern thruster also

amsterdam will be getting a
american bosch 12v motor
 fitted with a scratch kort  and brass prop

smit rotterdam (1/50)
2 x american bosch motors
540 b.t. and 540 s.t.

as far as radio gear i want to go with specktrum 
mtronics esc's

Scratch built 60+ inch long offshore tug 1/24 scale.
two graupner speed 900 bb torque motors linked to two graupner schottle drives ( need powerful servos to hold them still )
four 12 volt 7.5 amp batteries linked to give 15 amps to the motors. Controlled by two Proboat electronic speed controls.

model weights over 75lbs and cruises slightly faster than scale speed.
