Ringnetter Trawler ?
« on: April 29, 2008, 06:10:34 pm »

Ahoy there Shipmates

Just a couple of questions regarding the above, what is it & where can I obtain plans, photos etc.
I have a fibreglass hull (purchased from ebay) but no information on this type of craft.
Any help would be appreciated.

Regards
Bob

A ring netter , in the Scottish Sense , looks pretty similar to a drifter or seine net vessel. There are no gallows ( the A-frames the trawl doors sit beside on the models ) and only a small winch just infront of the wheelhouse set fore and aft. There are plan sets available from Model Boats : http://www.myhobbystore.com/ProductDetails/mcs/productID/2095/groupID/4/categoryID/76/v/3fd117e8-9d9c-4a68-8742-1f5cde86ca8b

Plans for a Ring Net Fisher by Harold A, Underhill are available from Brown Son & Ferguson, Glasgow (www.skipper.co.uk ) A good catalogue of other plans as well.
