Hi all

Sorry for what is probably a really newb question. :embarrassed:

Need to get an 8.4v battery. looking on Component shops site and they list a 3700mah SC nimh and a 4300mah SC nimh battery.
In the description it says 35amp discharge capacity for the 3700 and 50amp disharge for the 4300.
I was wondering what this means.
Also if I got the 4300 one would this cause damage to the motor compared to the 3700 one.

Many thanks

By the way the Tornado is coming on, just had to look about for the parts as its an old kit. O0

Hi WayneV,

The figures quoted are the maximum current output possible from the packs. Only crucial if your'e running motors that will draw real heavy amounts of current eg fast electric boats or something with a large brushless motor.  For example a brushless motor drawing 45 amps of current will not run at full speed using a 3700 pack as the max current available is typically 35 amps so a 4300 pack would be more suitable as it will allow up to 50 amps of current.

If you want the pack for a scale boat then the motor will draw somewhere between 2 - 15 amps only (Rough guess!). No damage will be caused to your motor with either pack although the 4300 pack will give you a longer running time but, the 4300 will be heavier and may affect the boat's maximum speed.
What motor is the pack for ?

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

The bat is for a Graupner 500 race E with a 17amp max draw so the 3700 will be fine I think.
