Cad file printing
« on: May 03, 2008, 04:25:28 pm »

I have some dxf files for the Lighterage Tug Regain which is going to be my next build, anyone know where I can get them printed to A1 size a bit easier to read than A4.

Thanks

Brian,

Most print shops can handle PDF files, so if you have the capability of converting them from dxf (which I think is AutoCad) to pdf - or know someone who can - then you should be OK. I'd check with your local plan printer first, though.

If you can't convert to PDF try printing at A4 and get the print shop to enlarge to A1.

Brian,

I don't think zamzar (http://www.zamzar.com/) do CAD formats, but its always worth asking them. They do lots of other conversions.

Another suggestion - is there a free CAD program that accepts dxf files? If so you can use a PDF converter like CutePDF or PDF995 which are printer drivers - you just print your document to one of these.
