What you need is a Deans Marine Kyte motor running on a 7.2V 3700mAh NiMH battery pack from the Component Shop.

Of course you could change the boat to suit the motor.....

the motor came out of a car [subaru model] so much for recycling couldnt face making another boat yet.

Have no idea, but I know my set up works. Never run the battery flat yet and ever so slightly over scale speed.

A 385 running on about half its rated voltage will give scale speed plus a bit for luck.  So - a 12-15 volt 5 pole 385 size motor running on either a 6 volt SLA or a 6 cell pack will do the job.
Find a faster hull for the ex-car motor.

fitted new motor much better now changed drowned servo [water logged] put old motor in future project box havent tried it yet but i am confident doesnt sound like a blender now
