S.G.B. Grey Goose
« on: May 14, 2008, 05:57:19 pm »

Finaly dragged her from the back of the garage i started building her many years ago but lost interest i bought her originaly to put my steam engine in but due to the hassel of trying to get a test certificate i sold it. The paint had discoloured so a fresh coat is needed and as the model is 6ft shes a bit of a squeeze in my room i still have the belt drive i made to hook up the steam plant fitted so i'll just bob the motor onto that. When i first got the fittings they arrived in a very sorry state but a quick call put right the damaged bits. I bought her when the semi kit was first released but just lost interest she takes up valuable space due to size and i'm not sure my hearts in this one but she needs finishing if only to sell on to fund the next build but here goes  O0

fresh coat of paint

home made belt drive unit

The broken fittings

there seems to be alot of bits to go on!

Wish me luck  :)

bbdave,
I have built one, took me over 2 yrs but that did include a house move!!
Superb semi-kit and well worth the effort.
I only sold mine as at 6 feet long but almost 14 inch beam I hardly ever sailed her.
There was a magazine article on the build, but that used 2 x MFA 850 motors.

Yes bob thats why i'm not keen i'm not sure if she'll get used much but it would be a shame not to build her.
