FAIREY HUNTSMAN POWER

Just like to say thanks for the Welcome note!
Have been reading the the Fairey Huntsman Power plant options with extreme interest on the fores & against.
I am currently nearing the end of a build of a 46" glass version of the model and have installed 2 x Johnson "DARKE HORSE" motors with 2.5:1 reduction boxes with 50mm 3 blade brass props
I'm led to believe that these motors will run on 12 - 22volts (10 - 18 cells) as direct drive with props up to 45mm or coupled to the 2.5:1 gearbox will power the HUNTSMAN / PERKASA on 16 - 18 cells and 55mm props for the best performance
Just curious to know is anybody out there running this setup already & if so with what results as regard to speed & duration
Will I just have to find out for myself when I eventually hit the pond?? and end up crying in my tea!!
