Hi,
I have a Swallow which a friend built for me with no problems.

It's a lovely boat and sails well, but it is not competitive, even at club level with some newer designs.
I also have a box kite, an even easier build and much quicker.
If you want a fast boat then there are quicker designs out there.

Depending on your sailing skill, some of the newer boats require very skilled trimming to get good results from them, and you may find a more basic  boat quicker for you.

I stopped racing a couple of years ago, so can't recommend other newer yachts.

If you get in touch with The Model Yacht Association, they should be able to point you in the right direction.

A model sailor in Aberdeen, Steve Taylor, has built one, and also another with his own modifications, to give it more boyancy in the forward/mid sections. Give him a mail and he may give you more info:-

I agree with Bob. A member of my club made one, it looks superb and sails very well but is not competitive. If you want a nice looking well behaved sports 1m yacht then it is a good project, if you want it for racing then look at other designs like the Triple Crown.
