PC Springer ........... the Build
« on: May 25, 2008, 03:51:49 pm »

Thank you to all who voted PC Springer the winner at the Mayhem Bash.

I kept the build secret before our yearly meeting at Wicksteed Park for fear of industrial spies.  :D

Here is the build Blog on how I built her, starting with the regulation size hull made of plywood and covered with epoxy resin. As you can see, I made a pigs ear out of the coating, so it was back to the sanding down to get a smoother finish.

Next it was the fitting out of the propeller shaft and motor, followed by the siting of the rudder and servo.

Couldn't resist fitting the newly acquired 'Hat' to see what was needed to support it

Next came the little steps at the rear of the cabin, followed by a bit of sanding down (thanks to Stavros for the advice)

Over to the deck painting and a bit of masking. The nice police blue colour was then added and a straight line created on the hull.

The helmet was then secured with epoxy resin and left overnight to dry out nice and tight.

Thank you Bigford. You can see why it had to be a secret. (official secrets act, and all that   ;D)

The whole lot is coming together now and needs the final touches

Finally, it's off to Wicksteed Park for a line up with the other models.

Thank you for choosing mine. I shall treasure the reward for ever.
