...  I have all my models equipped with one standard drive line, its a 540 that is rewound to give the torque/speed profile I need. If you reduce the speed of a 540 then the torque rises, rises to a point where it will happily drive 70mm brass props direct moving very heavy models. I am building a Pegasus 3 now and it has 540 motors tuned for semi fast models....

very interested in your way of increasing motor torque by rewinding... can you share with us in general, the number of turns the original 540 has and the number of turns you have increased to in order to obtain optimium balance between torque and rpm?

For info, there are recently a number of high turn 540 motors available in the market. They are meant for the rock crawler vehicles. (50T, 60T, 70T and even 100T)
