In all sort of seriousness, if I had the money, I would like to buy Tynemouth lake to make sure our greedy council would never get their hands on it and turn it into a car park. I would build an extension to the clubhouse, get TMBC to operate the summer "rowing boats" and generally make the place a damn sight better than it is now.

You could always buy the council. Then stick them on a slowboat to nowhereville, with one short-wave transmitter and just enough battery power so that you could have the fun of hearing their last SOS when they realise said slowboat contains no food, no water and no loo rolls..... just dry-salted peanuts.

Large (wadable) lake, club house (serving hot food and drinks) small hotel = Mayhem weekend all year.
Built near some sort of retail out-let to keep non boating folk happy.........

Apart from the nuts, bolts, washers and Fairy Liquid, I would buy a cottage in Appledore (happy memories) a fishing boat and hire someone to teach me how to sail and explain the difference between a bulwark and a bollard. :)

regards
Gary :)
