Give me a three masted square rigger any day and I will rig it for you, maintaining as closely as possible to historical accuracy.
Give me an early 20th century tug and I am all at sea. The problem is that in order to rig my Lady T, I have 10 shrouds, 2 sets of halyards and 2 foremast stays to rig, all of which start on the main superstructure, but belay to points outside it. As the superstructure is removeablefor internal access, I cannot figure out how to rig it so that it looks accurate and yet allows me into the hull!!!
I have thought about hooks, but that is not really viable as there will be too many and it will not look real. The only other thing I can come up with is basically to leave the standing rigging off and just do a simile of the running rigging.
Any ideas will be most welcome.....My brain is beginning to hurt now....
