Possible supermarket hull?

17.25" long, 5.25" wide.. is this possibly suitable as acheap hull?  Black and white oval serving dish.. £3.. from "that" supermarket.. (oddly I saw in it the potrential for something else when I picked it up, then looking at it now gets me thinking..)

Lol.. the top curves slightly upward at either end so they'd need to be sanded flat to mate together.. and it's a cheap plastic, the sort used for picnic crockery, so it floats..

Maybe a banana boat would be peachy?
