2nd Scottish Annual Tug-in 2008

(1/2) > >>

BlazingPenguin:
Despite the threat of rain & gale force winds, the 2nd annual Scottish tug towing event went ahead as planned on Sunday.
An early start from the construction team led by Ron Morlan got things up and running, the dock was laid out for tugs to engage in both solo and team towing.

At the request of organiser Norry Mason it was decided to involve visitors by running a 'pro-am', an event previously run by the Balne Moor duo of John Pollit and Eric Wallett and Co....a great bunch of lads !  Complete novices at TT, John Caywood & Chris Dailsie coming through to win the solo towing for young Chris and John pulling of the team event while paired with Bill Noon. Lessons learnt in the same situation with John Hughes from Ellesmere Port club having proved invaluable to Bill.

Well done to those who attended & participated.....

Arrow5:
Thanks for pics, excellent. The docks look great. I wish I could have been there but as usual "other commitments" jumped up and spoiled my day.  Any Springer action ?

BlazingPenguin:
Sorry buddy...the springers remained firmly on the table this time around, they were there, but just inactive.
The public were impressed by Glasgows answer to Madurodam though, kids were seeing things in the lay-out that werent there!!!
(Sorta like that Michael Bentines 'Potty Time' for those who remember it ?)

poll:
