Tug what sort of drill are you using that will rev to 12000 rpm a di grinder not a piller drill.

Hello all.

Just a quick question:

When I bolt the drill to the worktop, should I mount it striaght to the work surface, or should I put some rubber matting down first, then screw the drll ( and the scroll saw as well ) down to the bench with the matting in the middle. My thinking is that it should damp out any vibrations, and mabe make it run a little quieter. On the flip side, it might make mean it doesn't mount level.

Worth the effort?

Thanks

Probably better to use to use ear protectors if the noise bothers you. They also have the advantage of making complaints inaudible.  ;)

I would bolt it direct that way there is less chance of it moving when the 'rubber' starts to deteriorate.

Just my own oppinion
