I'm looking for a better way to cut a dowel.
I cut one my hand and I'm not satisfied with it.
I have attached a picture of it as well as one of what I want.
Any suggestions?

I make jaws by drilling a hole the size of the spar through a solid block, glue the block onto the spar, then cutting, chiselling, sanding down to shape.
Slow and tedious, but it worked for me.

Halve the dowel to a D shape, cut ply jaws in one piece and stick it on.
