This particular method of waterproofing the transmitter has proved successful however care must be taken with the location of the antenna as well as ensuring correct identification of the throttle lever, particularly in cold weather.

It was generally accepted by all club members that the use of incontenance underwear as a cheap form of wader has not met with much success as they required constant internal adjustment to prevent chaffing.

On reflection and looking back at the pictures over the years, the judges came
to the conclusion that Phil did have a radio set hidden about his person and thus
stripped him of his straight running world championship.
