This is a photo of one of the two lifeboats from the German raider Kormoran which was sunk by HMAS Sydney off the West Australian coast during WW2. The lifeboat is in a small railway museum in the remote West Australian town of Carnavon. The thought occured to me that it may be appropriate to have it displayed along with the Carley raft which was all that was recovered from the Sydney.

You are right, they both should be preserved together as a memorial to both crews and the ones that never made it home. From the photo it looks to be in a bit of a sorry state is it located in or out doors? Also welcome to the forum. Where are you located and what types of R/C boats do you like/have.

It is indoors, reasonably well protected, but has been "preserved" by the installation of steel supports and according to the caretaker is about to be "repaired" which sounds a bit ominous.
