Great Tug..Great Barge..Great Rolling Stock but that must be the biggest "Stars & Stripes" in the world!

 ;D

Thanks. I agree, the Yanks do have a penchant for large pennants don't they?

Anybody remember the photos of the  Dutch club that had dozens of tugs pull/push a giant full-size barge ?

Yes I remember that Steve but I was remembering something on the Continent with dozens of model tugs and a massive barge , might have had a crane on it too. :-\

Thanks Joe, that`ll be handy.  What protection is there between the tug`s bow and the notch or is it better to be metal to metal ?

Usually the tugs have rubber fenders that absorb the friction between boat and barge. Here's a couple of knotch photos.

No travelling this weekend - weather is wet. South island lost power Sunday night right at the dinner hour! Thanksgiving dinner tonight with all the clan!
Springers sanded, ready for some filler.
Interesting book - Primer of Towing  by George Reid - shows all tow hookups for the big guys. Worth a read if anyone comes accross it.

hi offshore  i dont know the weight! of me barge  at a guess i would say about 50lbs!!  the draft is about 5inchs   its a hollow bottom which gives more drag ok2  &  dont have to ballast it down  :-))
