If so it's a very early Concordski - cos they got canard fins later in life

It is, and there are the canards in a "full up" position just behind the cockpit

They may, of course,  be retractable and deployed only for low speed use

not a 100% sure . But i think it a late photo of her in her second life. If you look o her fin you will see the US flag as she was hired by one of the us plane makers as a supersonic test bed.

A bit unfair to Brian but it was in fact the P1127 Kestrel, the forerunner of the Harrier.

The main difference from the angle of the picture is the thickness of the intakes.  The Kestrels were very thin but the Harriers were very much thicker.

yes my pic was the Tupolev TU144 "Charger", known by the popular press as Conkordski.  note the US and Russian (not SOVIET) flag on the tail plane as well, mac.doug helped Tupolev get it again
