Naaaah, it has the "sit" of a Hind !

Having said that it just might be a Havoc (same sit but much smaller)

I am radically short-sighted so I have always recognised everyone and everything by features other than focussed detail

And yes, I'm often wrong

It is a P47, almost certainly a 47D

Since its French (clue to the twinboom) the throttle probably worked the "wrong " way round

For 2 bonus points  - the Thunderbolt's nickname, and the nickname of the Thunderbolt II?

Nice one Smudge - I have a plan for one of these intended for a Jetex 200 - its a chubby and charming little plane

Jug is also good, and the Tbolt II is better known as a Warthog

is this too simple?
