Hi Andrew, looks like the Supermarine 224 to me. First aircraft to be called Spitfire, but not the success its descendent turned out to be.... O0.....Smudge

No it wasnt, it was built in England but they gave it a Scottish name >>:-( It is the Cunliffe-Owen "Clyde Clipper" ::) {-) {-) {-)

Hi arrow5, you got it, Cunliffe-Owen OA-1, although you have lost me with the comment "no it wasn't". As I live in England," in this country", means England. The aircraft was built at Eastleigh near Southampton.fist flight Jan 1939.... ??? ???.......Smudge.

Consulting my Boys own book of Aeroplanes tells me that it is the Shelton Crusader from the 1930's............. ;).............Smudge

That is it , the only one ever built.  I had to consult my big boys big book ! Try and get a read, library or ebay etc, priceless.  Did the hint help ?
