Don't know that one. The interesting thing about the Marut is that it was designed by Kurt Tank.

The aircraft museums in New Delhi and Bangalore are worth seeing.

Can't see a real aeroplane at all - could it be a mirage of some description?

Well, well, well! First the Marut designed by Kurt Tank, and now this one by Willy Messerschmitt!

That was the Spanish-Egyptian-Indian Helwan HA300. Failing any other odd German-designed devices, how about this?

Re-engined Mustang. Contra-props could imply turbo-prop?????  A Reno racer or Cavalier????

Sorry mate it's not a re-engined Mustang, although it does have a close link to one, and turbo-prop, Phttt, wash your mouth out, this is raw piston engined power.... ::)..........Smudge

Smack on the nail Richard, it is John Marlins replica Martin-Baker MB-5. powered by a Rolls-Royce Griffon 57 with two 3 bladed wooden contra-rotating propellers. He used the wing and tail structure from a P-51. He is based at Stead airport in Arizona...I believe the aircraft is for sale, Oh for a big lottery win.............. 8).................Smudge

Challenging!  I toyed with the YaK 41, too, and the Foxbat, but the air intakes are all wrong, and it must be a relatively low-speed plane.

Pretty sure its russian, should be a trainer or similar, but can't at the moment put my finger on it.

Agreed but mods to engine pods suggested VTOL or STOL to me. Cant quite make out the company (or naval ? ) motif on the fin. :-\ :'(   Wonder if it is from another country , maybe licence built?  A brain teaser right enough !

I promise you this is an as designed, not license built aircraft, no post development mods and its not a one off.

Do we want a clue?
