an i not right in thinking this is the vessel that was in the tabloids about 5 years ago,  the builder  decided on a large scale and started to produce the model at the end of the back garden.....
its now to big/ heavy to shift..... so the titanic resides in the undergrowth i think backing on to a railway line ...

if memory serves me right its in the manchester/ north west ish area ?

am i right ?

Not quite, it is in Inverness and is backed by the Caledonian Canal. I dont think it was ever intended to shift, it certainly wont float. It is more of a mock-up than ship.

As far as I know its meant to be the Titanic and its lying beside the Muirtown basin at the Inverness end of the Caledonian canal,      Its like something out of a film studio set,  looks ok on one side but and just a frame on the other.    If you zoom in you can see the framework.    I  dont know if it made the national press but it was in one of the local rags quite recently.

Found the story!

Stan Fraser has spent six years working on the model
A maritime enthusiast who built a model of RMS Titanic in his back garden has been told that the project will not be sunk by planning regulations.
Stan Fraser, 41, and his sons have spent six years working on the 88ft (27m) model next to their home in Clachnaharry Road, Inverness.

He was informed last month that planning permission would be needed.

But now Highland Council has told him that the model is exempt because it has been there for more than four years.

A planning officer had originally told Mr Fraser that retrospective planning consent would be required due to the size of the model and the fact that his home is a listed building.

Mr Fraser had feared that the structure would have to be demolished if he could not secure permission.

He uses a disco smoke machine to create smoke for the ship's four funnels and has launched his own website to promote his ambition to open a maritime museum.

The passenger ship sank on its maiden voyage on 15 April 1912, with the loss of 1,503 passengers and crew.
