Just about finished rebuilding my model. I used the same basic model as Edward, with the White Ensign 130mm gun turrets and photo etched brass kit. The 30mm Gatlings, RBU6000 rocket launchers, motor launches, boat handling cranes, the unidentified devices under the cranes(I guess they are for replenishment at sea) and the twin barrelled devices on the stern(chaff launchers in some references) were scratch built from plasticard, tubing and rod and wire. Paint finish is with White Ensign and Humbrol enamels and Tamiya hull red for the lower hull and their transparent red and green for the navigation lights. The markings were made using inkjet printed transfer film.

Apparently your album is marked "Private" and won't open.

Excellent work! :-)) The White Ensign etched brass set certainly enhances the model a lot.

I really need to get round to taking some more photos of my own model! It still isn't finished, partly because I'm still not sure what to do about the main deck railings (I used etched parts on the upper decks and superstructure, which aren't quite as vulnerable to damage) I have some plastic rails from a Trumpeter kit which may look OK with some cleanup + painting.

BTW the batteries I used are 4 rechargeable AAs in a battery holder. This is a total voltage of 4.8v which gives a very good "scale" speed with the default motors and props.

Hi there, it is a very interesting topic! Unfortunately, the pictures are not visible. Is it only my problem (i tried different browsers though) or something wrong with the site? Thanks!

Many thanks for your reply! Do you think it is ok to ask Edward for photos (he might have them somewhere)  %) ?
