Coffee stirrers!
« on: August 13, 2006, 11:41:04 pm »

Certain well known coffee shops as well as many well known hamburger establishments offer hard wood coffee stirrers to their customers to, er, stir their coffee?  Not on your nelly!  They are great for stirring tinlets of paint, mixing up 2 part epoxy, applying P38 filler, using as planking on ship's boats, window frames, door frames, kick boards...the list goes on an on.  Best of all...they're free!

Obviously, you'll only be taking them one at a time, not pocketfuls of the things, won't you?

The Stirrer aka Mike,
Where I live, we are sort of old fashion.  How do you plank a boat with a spoon?  The other uses I understand.

Well that must be a first an American Coffee shop that provides spoons. ;D ;D ;D

I'll have to add your area to my autumn (fall) itinerary.

Another wee tip on this subject is McDonalds McFlurry Spoons...The Handle of which makes a good mast for tugs or Coasters...etc...
They are square & taper from 1/2 inch to 1/4 inch...You cam push one up inside the other to increase the height of the mast...They are hollow for running nav light wiring up the inside of...The list goes on...

I have used them to make the collapsable  mast on my 1:24 Scale Damen Stan Tug...
I will try to get some better pictures to let you see....

REGARDS...Norry....

No. The coffee stirrer is about 4-5 inches long and about a quarter inc wide, usually with semi circular ends. The chip device is meant as a fork and has contoured edges making it more difficult to get a useable piece from it.

I'm not brave enough to anger the waitress with a hot pot of coffee in her hand...
