This person cropped up on youtube last night.  He's obviously applying a soundtrack but the animatronics are quite superb to say the least!

Nigg closed just a year or two before I moved to Inverness, Arderseir closed within a year of that.  Both yards essentially built the North Sea offshore oil production platforms mostly still in use today.

Inchindown tanks, a few miles away from me.  The old WW2 navy bomb-proof fuel storage buried into the hillside.  Empty of course now but some folk get the chance to go in and apparently it has the longest recorded echo in the world!

...I wouldn't mind going in as I've done enough tank inspections before and squeezed through manholes and up and down ladders between stiffeners and openings thank you, but squeezing through that entrance pipe -b****r that.

I did a fire risk assesment for a workshop I used to work in.  There was a concrete fence separating us from a big oil storage yard and big tanks.  I did an induction with the depot over the fence -previous owner we can't name hadn't maintained the tanks for years so they were empty and more likey to fall over than expode but there was other major storage on-site.  However, on asking abut the depot practice:  No responsibility to any other businesses -I must have been the only person who showed interest in the last decade.  SFPS weren't much inerested these days so if  a major event hapened on-site it was up to you to know what to do, you're essentially on your own but if their site wen't up you probably wouldn't know too much about it being that close to it  -you'd be a casualty.   I presumed the concrete fence was some form of blast wall but it was just an upgrade to an old chain link fence  for security -nothing more.
