I spent several very pleasurable hours there on our last trip to the UK, back in 2008. There were some wonderful ship models on display. We stayed for a week in a cottage not far from Barrow, in Little Urswick, from where we covered most of the Lake District.

Interesting video of how an 18th Century line of battle ship is constructed using HMS Victory as an example. The commentary is a bit non nautical but is very clear and obviously aimed at the general public.

I was in Portsmouth Dockyard the other day and Victory is almost entirely built over on the western side for ongoing repairs. You can walk around inside the scaffolding (hard hats provided!). They have been taking off the external planking in the amidships area and there is a lot of rot behind in the frames.
