They are a good crew, it takes a lot of practice.
When you did the gunnery school there was a practice turret that used inert rounds and consisted of just the breech mechanism.
Lots of opportunity for damaged hands.
Down in the handling room there's another 4 guys transferring the shells and charges from the 4 magazine hoists that are fixed in place to the 4 turret hoists that move with the turret of course.
Below them are four guys in the magazine transferring shells and charges to the hoists from the stowage.
Behind and above the guns is the 'captain of the turret' who can take manual control if there is a power failure from the director.
Even more fun in any kind of swell when the ship is rolling and the guns are stabilised and moving relative to the rest of the turret.
