Plague.......I think the presenter was presented with incorrect text........the failed rod appeared to be no more that 130 mm diameter..... & clearly not a conrod
...but possibly a head bolt stud
To change one on the run is OK [but not for the feint hearted
]........isolate or rack the fuel oil & air to the cylinder in question, hydraulically de-tension the balance of the head bolt nuts, lift the head & remove/replace the failed stud
Over the years I have witnessed this head bolt/stud replacement
.....[13 cylinder Sulzer 68,000 HP was the largest] but only on a stationary engine...... Derek
